Shanklin Chine

Set behind the beaches is the sandstone cliff where Shanklin Chine offers a wooded exploration, a favourite for smugglers in the 1800’s, many visitors in the past 200 years have been to the chine to see mother nature carve its way through the gorge.

As interest grew in the 19th century, especially with thanks to Queen Victoria’s visits to the island, mineral rich spring waters became a popular attraction for Shanklin for seaside holidays and salt water bathing.

If you're looking for care for yourself or a loved one from an award winning homecare provider, get in touch with our friendly team:

"Their staff have been kind and attentive at every point and in addition to the essential care, they also encouraged Mum to start walking and getting back to being as independent as possible, which is a challenge with the elderly once some confidence is understandably knocked after health problems.

The care is exceptionally good and it’s obvious this is at the core of their values, which other companies claim but do not often deliver."
